My name is Maria

Born and raised in Coimbra, I have always been interested in the world of arts. At the age of 11 I joined Atelier/Galeria Ícone, where I learned to paint and draw, thus creating a vast portfolio of paintings and drawings. In 10th grade I followed the Course of Visual Arts at José Falcão High School, which made the bridge to the Design and Multimedia Course, at the University of Coimbra, in which I have a degree. In addition to this, at the age of 14 I started competitive rowing for Académica, having done several seasons of federated rowing that included various national and international titles and podiums. In highlight is my participation in the European University Championships, in Sweden in 2019. Throughout these years in the sport, I was also a teacher and counselor of several beginner’s courses and rowing summer camps, where I taught children and adults how to row. I also worked for the AAC Rowing Club as a member of the club board, where I was responsible for the club’s image and communication - managing social networks, preparing posters, vouchers and other necessary graphic materials - also helping in other daily tasks of the section, such as organizing competitions and regattas, promoting the sport and even contacting with brands for sponsorship, among others.
